Stock Market Crash 1989 Nikkei 225 Japan |
|
From 1986 to 1989 the Nikkei 3 folded it self from 12‘900 points to 38‘800 points.
However, the index lost over 40% of its value within 11 month, from the end of 1989 to October 1990, reading 22‘800 points.
At the end of the year 2006, the index is still far away from its record high in 1989 - over +16 years in down trending.
An investor placing a bet in 1989 and not cutting short losses, would not have had the change to regain its original investment, even if bravery holding the position till November 2006.
